MEMBERSHIP OF THE INSTITUTE IS BASED ON QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE.
Applicants for fellowship must have worked in public health & related organisations/institutions for at least 12 years and above & must have at least MPH in public health or M.Sc in a related field. There are waivers for holders of PhD as regards working experience. For application for Full membership, working experience ranges from 6-11 years and should be holders of MPH or M.Sc in relevant fields. There are also waivers for holders of PhD. Applicants with B.Sc public health, MPH or M.Sc in a related field with 1-6 working experience are qualified to apply for Associate cadre.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF MEMBERSHIP
1). Any member who is discovered to have made false claim(s) shall have his/her membership of the Institute withdrawn. In addition to this, such a member shall be blacklisted.
(2) Any member who acts in any manner capable of bringing the lofty name of the Institute into disrepute shall be penalised through the withdrawal of membership.
(3) Any member who deliberately disseminates false or misleading information, or acts in a way capable of bringing shame to the Institute, or tarnish the name of the Institute, in any way that could bring the name of the Institute into disrepute shall have his/her membership withdrawn. Depending on the gravity of the action(s) of such Member, the Institute shall not hesitate to go into litigation to legally address the situation.
(4) Any member who acts in any manner that contravenes the laws of the country where he/she serves shall have his/her membership withdrawn.
(5) Membership of the Institute is dependent on the payment of the mandatory Annual due, non compliance of a member in paying his/her annual subscription shall automatically lead to forfeiture of membership.
(6) Every member of the Institute shall attend the periodic programmes of the Institute (online or physical) . Failure of a member to attend the programmes of the institute shall render the member’s membership dormant. This may lead to the withdrawal of membership.
(7) Any fund paid by a member into the coffers of the Institute is non-refundable except if the service (s) for which the fund is paid is/are not delivered or such member made performance impossible. Where the fund is refundable, twenty percent (20%) of the amount paid shall be withheld by the institute. Request for such refund shall follow proper official channel of the institute. Official letter with proper verifiable documents shall be addressed to the Accounts Department of the Institute for clarification and necessary action.
(8) All applications shall be directed to the Institute through the official channel.
